About

At Ethiopian Cuisine by Friends, we are thrilled to share our passion for the vibrant and flavorful dishes of Ethiopia with the wonderful community of Pensacola. As a Navy family, our journey through life has brought us to this fantastic city, and we couldn't be happier to make it our long-term home.

Upon arriving in Pensacola in April 2023, we noticed a void in the culinary landscape – there were no Ethiopian restaurants, and the ingredients needed to create the dishes we loved were either hard to find or unavailable. Determined to recreate the flavors we missed, we embarked on a culinary adventure, tirelessly perfecting our recipes, especially the injera – a soft, spongy, and slightly tangy traditional Ethiopian flatbread made from fermented teff flour. Its unique texture perfectly complements the flavors of the various dishes served atop it.

After countless hours of experimentation, navigating through the peaks and valleys of culinary exploration, we finally achieved the quality we were accustomed to. This victory filled us with excitement, and we knew we had to share these incredible flavors with others, both those familiar with Ethiopian cuisine and those eager to embark on a new culinary journey.

We feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to introduce Ethiopian food and culture to the city of Pensacola. Our name, Ethiopian Cuisine by Friends, reflects the recognition and acknowledgment that we could not have made it this far alone. The unwavering support of our family and friends has been the foundation of our success, and we are forever grateful.

At Ethiopian Cuisine by Friends, we invite you to join us on a flavorful adventure, as we bring the essence of Ethiopia to your plate. From the warmth of our hearts to the warmth of your belly, we promise an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the rich tapestry of Ethiopian culture and cuisine.

Come, let us take you on a journey from Ethiopia to Pensacola, one delicious bite at a time. Cheers!
